December 7th Dr. appointment

I went in for my appointment this morning and was able to see the baby and it's heartbeat. I was able to listen to the heartbeat as well. That was so cool!

As of today, I am 7 weeks and 3 days along. My due date is July 22nd. Matthew's due date was July 19th and came July 7th.

They told me my next appointment in a month will be a 2 hour appointment. What in the heck are they going to do? I guess I will find out...

Matthew found out about this appointment and refused to go to school. This wouldn't be so bad if I just weren't completely exhausted! I remember the feeling of being utterly tired, but I didn't remember it being this bad. Although I do remember sleeping through New Years the year I was pregant with Matt. Thank goodness for neighbors that will take Matthew for a couple of hours so I can rest.

thoughts

With my first actual appointment only a week away, I am anxiously awaiting the first ultrasound. It feels like an eternity to wait. But, that means I am only 9 weeks along out of 40! I have a feeling this is going to drag on. However, it does help to have a few of my friends in the same boat.

I have really given this a lot of thought. I will do some things the same and some things differently, especially with sleep! I am thinking the breatheable bumpers for the crib and not freaking out over every little sound will help a lot. First and foremost on my list is to get our house in order. This is going to be a big deal. I am not just cleaning the house, but organizing and getting rid of junk and making it easier to function. Some people would call this "nesting" but I call it long overdue. I want everything to have a place and a reason for being where it is.

Matthew is so excited to help me decorate the house this week for Christmas. We have started our first advent calendar. Lots of fun! And, he talks about being a big brother to his little sister. He told me he really wants a little brother, but the baby is a girl. At 15-20 weeks we will see if he is correct.

That is all for now. I will write more as things progress and add photos.
